There are many digital businesses popping up all over the place. Most wouldn’t have existed five or 10 years ago, but there’s now a world of opportunity available for the taking.

These companies have developed online skills in digital marketing and have learned how to help their customers reach a wider audience, through search engine marketing, pay per click advertising, content marketing, social media marketing, etc.

Specialist agencies have a niche in their expertise, but there are advantages to be had working with agencies that offer multiple services versus a specialist one.

1. Easier working with one company

When you have a query or an issue that needs attention, it’s often easier dealing with one point of contact that knows all the ins and outs of a broad range of services. Questions and problems should be sorted out promptly, but perhaps this wouldn’t be as painless coordinating multiple suppliers.

2. Improved communications

Communications would be better and quicker both sides, as you will have a designated project or account manager who will look after you. They will have an overview that spans across your account and deep knowledge of how it all fits together. Working with more than one company may not be as efficient, particularly if you need them to work together on a campaign or promotion.

3. Maintain a consistent message

Your business’s brand message will be consistent across all the platforms. This is valuable as your customers will expect and receive the same message at all the relevant communications touchpoints. Trying to coordinate cohesive messages with two or more agencies may dilute communications and make them less effective.

4. Better for smaller businesses

Small businesses have an opportunity to learn and grow working with a full-service agency. The agency will be flexible and on hand to educate you on all parts of their service offering. You could risk becoming anonymous and ‘just another client’ working with multiple agencies, especially if your digital marketing services are shared between them.

5. Technically adept across all technologies

As a full-service provider, the business will have their collective fingers on the pulse. To be effective for their clients, they will be aware of the latest technologies, the impact on their client’s industry and what it means as a whole, for the full digital agency offering. Single specialism agencies may not always have access to the fuller, bigger picture.

Of course, there are advantages of working with single specialism agencies, such as their expertise in a specific area, but for businesses that need a ‘no-nonsense’ and collaborative approach to digital marketing, a full-service agency is an efficient solution.
